On Thursday 10th May 2012, I was cordially invited to the launch evening of 'DUDEBOX' designer toys at the Village Underground, London. On show would be an amazing collection of original, limited edition of collectable art figures, with Secret Walls providing the entertainment, alongside DJ's spinning the discs, food and beverages provided throughout the night. This was exciting times for the designer toy world, Dudebox were going big! They had slowly been revealing their product lines and artist rosters over the past few months in the run up to this event. What stood out for me was the fearless, bold original design concepts Dudebox were prepared to go with, there was also a Custom Toy display where a variety of new talent had been asked to customise the new platform, this was brilliant, not only did I get the chance to learn of new artists I would later follow myself, it showed how a big branded company were helping emerging artists establish themselves in the scene. The very talented Mark Gmehling had also painted this large mural on the front of the venue itself, this was a very enjoyable evening indeed.
